Progress As A Source of Energy

Back to Blog

Yesterday, I experienced an afternoon of low energy.  I felt trapped as I was working from my home office.  I am accustomed to traveling around the city to see my clients.  This variety generates energy for me.  As I was in this low energy state, I realized that it is important to focus on progress vs. the deficit.  What are your sources of gratitude during this time?  Who are the people that have brought you to this place in your career?  Take some time to consider not only your accomplishments, but also those that supported you to achieve your success.

Once you have completed this action, your brain moves to curious brain mode, which generates energy and focus.  You can take your team through this exercise as well.  I typically ask my clients to do this before the meeting begins as it helps their brain focus on learning.
